Branch Manager

Scope of Job:
Responsible to ensure that the financial needs of new and existing customers are met by a knowledgeable Branch staff proficient at providing all types of deposit, loan, and financial service products. Accountable for the quality of service for customer relationships through every stage of the sales and onboarding process. Ensure qualified referrals of Bank, Insurance, Investment, and Trust Service through defined, proactive sales efforts and a high level of quality service.
Primary Duties:
Responsible for the day-to-day management, staffing, administration, and related support staff for the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Selects, trains, coaches, and develops subordinates in accordance with BankWest philosophies and policies; schedules and manages staffing ensuring work completion and delivery of related customer service requirements; ensures compliance with BankWest policies, procedures and standards.
Responsible to manage assigned Commercial, Agricultural, and Construction credits for existing loan customers. Includes: monitoring of customer financials, strength of collateral, and performance through research, analysis, and inspection.
Provide expertise and support to Business Development Officers and Universal Bankers in the management of new and existing credit relationships.
Responsible to monitor and manage Branch credit performance for all loan types; making timely decisions and recommendations on the disposition of problem credits.
Accountable for the development of Consumer and Business financial relationships through the retention and growth of existing customer relationships and continuous growth of new business. Responsible to utilize and administer a proactive business development call program for the Branch.
Identify customer needs for additional Bank and Financial Service products in the Branch. Ensure the sale and referral of Bank, Trust, Brokerage, and Insurance products and services to new and existing customers.
Ensure Branch performance is aligned with the budget and other performance measures.
Responsible to maintain the ability and knowledge to make decisions or recommendations on all requests for credit.
Accountable to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of related policies and procedures. Ensure that Branch work responsibilities are performed consistently with the standardized procedure and compliance requirements of the Bank.
Secondary Duties:
Act in a leadership capacity, providing relevant expertise and counsel; actively supporting work and employee development activities of the Bank.
Work as a team with departmental counterparts on planning and implementing assigned projects and products.
Participate on various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate by management.
Attend, actively participate in organization, job specific training offered, and Quality Service programs.
Adhere to all applicable Policies and Procedures of BankWest organization.
Community involvement is strongly encouraged.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Applicable experience and/or related certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience:
5 years' experience in related field.
Experience in working as supervisor, mentor, and coach.
Knowledge and Special Skills:
Excellent credit/financial analytical skills.
Ability to work dependently and/or independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust work schedules as needed to complete job responsibilities.
Ability to organize and handle multiple responsibilities while delivering quality external and/or internal Customer Service.
Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with external and/or internal customers.
Knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements pertinent to performance of specified duties in job description.
Knowledge of banking terminology and procedures.
Ability to skillfully use a variety of application software, learn computer programs, and comprehend the program output.
Adhere to Federal Privacy Standards in addition to following BankWest requirements for electronic communication and Social Engineering standards.
BankWest is a "Sales Organization" and all employees are expected to participate directly or indirectly with increasing BankWest's presence in their markets as appropriate.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
